Dinner Theatre Trip
In last year’s activity survey, going to a different dinner theatre (than The Pines) was the number one vote-getter. I’ve received information from various theatres and will be arranging a trip later this year. Watch future newsletters for the details! Sharon C. Billger
Restoration & Fundraising Committee Sandwich Sale
The committee has decided to hold quarterly Ham and Cheese Sandwich sales. The next sale will be Thursday, March 22. We will be making the same ham, cheese, and lettuce sandwiches. The cost remains at $3.50 each. Orders are due to me by 12 noon on Sunday, March 18. We will begin making the sandwiches at 3:30 PM, all help is welcome! Pick-up time is 4:30. If you cannot make it by 4:30, no problem, just let us know what time you will arrive and we’ll wait for you. See me any Sunday morning for order sheets. We schedule these sales on Thursday evenings so you can take orders at work. It’s a delicious sandwich at a great price and we made a nice profit, so ask your coworkers, family, neighbors and friends. Thank you for supporting our fundraising efforts for restoration of the stained glass windows. Martin L. Billger - Committee Chair
Mutual Ministry Committee
The Mt Zion Lutheran Church Mutual Ministry Committee met in February. This committee is comprised of the following members: Joey Arndt, Vicky Free, Sylvia Keller, Lester Miller and Tom Tamagnone. The committee meets every 6 weeks unless an issue or concern is brought up that needs immediate attention.
The committee’s ultimate goals is to support the ministry at Mt Zion Lutheran Church, while at the same time handling any issues or concerns that may be brought to their attention. At our recent meeting, we held an open forum where our team could openly talk about things we think are working quite well and maybe areas we could improve. The ultimate goal is to provide the leadership to continuously look at our church and the organization and drive our program with enthusiasm and a determination to succeed in all we do, knowing that sometimes we need to re-visit our process and constructively move forward with our church activities, functions and services.
This committee will be rotating in 3 new members this year. If you are interested in serving on this team, please speak to the Church Council President – Jeff Wetzel or Vice President – Blair Free.
Donations Needed for Women's Group Projects
Throughout the upcoming year, we have planned many great projects. With winter now beginning to show its cold head, we would like to make prayer blankets. In addition to gifts for the homebound members,we thought that this may be useful during our service by those who may mind the cold. We will be crocheting and quilting these lap blankets. So this is where you come in. We need donations of yarns and materials. Each prayer blanket will be approximately 36" X 36". Would you like to learn either too? Join the Women's group because we are going to learn too. Contact Vicky Free, April Osterstock, or any of the other members of this group for more information.
